Edgar Ladrón de Guevara
Edgar Ladrón de Guevara completed his Bachelor´s Degree at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco in Mexico City (1980-1984) with a major in Communication Science. He obtained a Master's Degree at the School of Visual Arts in New York (1993-1995) in Photography and Related Media. Throughout his career he has received many awards and special distinctions.
Ladrón de Guevara's work has been exhibid in museums and galleries in North America and Europe including: Amparo Museum (Puebla), Art Museum of Sonora, National Museum of Anthropology and History (Mexico City), Bronx Museum of the Arts, Mexican Cultural Institute of Washington DC, Mexican Cultural Institute of New York, Museum of the City of New York, Modern Art Museum (Mexico City), Centro de la Imagen (Mexico City), Nina Menocal Gallery, George Estman House (Rochester, NY), Blue Star Art Space (San Antonio, TX), and Carla Stellweg Gallery (New York City).
He has participated in in different Contemporary Art Fairs such as: ZONA MACO FOTO, ARCO (Madrid), Art Chicago, Art Vancouver International Art Exhibition (Canada), Expo Arte Guadalajara, and FotoFest (Houston, TX).
His Work can be found in public and private collections including the JUMEZ Collection (Mexico City), Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (New York City), Carillo Gil Museum of Art, National Museum of Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, Dancing Bear W.M. Hunt, Wittliff Collection (San Marco, TX) and Centro de la Imagen.
